the Lord Is Our Neighbor Puppeteers love to share their talents with everyone
The puppet ministry is one of the newest ministries at St. Mark's. It was the inspiration of their director Val Tesdal that had them get organized in August 2005. Within a short period of time they were involved in the Stewardship play called "To the Castle". After the success of this play, the puppeteers decided they needed to come up with a name that would reflect their mission. In religious circles St. Mark is portrayed as a lion. Using that as a base, they came up with the name: "the Lord Is Our Neighbor", or the L.I.O.N.
The L.I.O.N.'s not only perform during worship services at St. Mark's they also go out into the community. They have done shows at other Churchs, Preschools, Retirement Communities and Afterschool Programs. They are willing to work in a performance when ever they can. Anyone in the fourth grade or older are welcome to join the puppeteers, all you need to do is express your interest with Val Tesdal, Director.
